THE REGULAR IN IRREGULARITIES

The regular in irregularities.  The beauty behind the flaws.  The turmoil beneath the smiles.  Blindfolded, we are. Blurry visions, we have.  We do not try to see the good in all. Yet, we claim all life do to us, is to enthrall....  I say; we're the cause of our woes.  Many a times, I get body shamed. Before I clocked two decades on mother earth, I used to cry when anyone called me thin. I would stare at the image the mirror reflected;checking her flaws and neglecting the 'so-obvious' beauty. I've seen so many people get body shamed also. Some called fat, some called ugly, some are said to have a crooked dentition..... So many scenario!  I have heard of people committing suicide 'cos they were body shamed. I've heard so many slipped into depression, some tried to fight back using violence, but ended up in jail....  People tend to forget they aren't perfect. Everyone's got flaws. I believe the society got our minds, DOMESTICATED! We've bee...

BROKEN

When she was 19, her father abandoned her, her mum and three siblings... Prior tho the abandonment, her mother was a full housewife. You could imagine the trauma they had to go through... She was broken! When he was 17, he experienced an emotional breakdown 'cos his once happy home turned sour. His education came to an hault. He couldn't maximize his talent well... He was broken! I know of a three years old kid, who is a victim of a broken home. He had to go live with an uncle. The uncle made him go through hell from such an early age! Now, the 19 years old is now 22. She's in her finals in the university. She's still struggling and enduring the pains. But, she has achieved alot despite the situation around her. She has travelled the world through books. She has bagged so many degrees through online courses. She's now being defined strong, by many. She chose not to be a broken soul 'cos she came from a broken home. She chose to stay STRONG, not BROKEN Sh...

COMMITMENT

What does it take to be committed? What do you do, when you get better proposals than that of your partner? Does true love wane?  Do one fall out of love?  I say; It really takes a strong heart to stick with a partner. As it is, that love is a great task, staying committed is a greater one. This leads us to the question: DO PEOPLE LOVE FOR A REASON?  In my own opinion, people do not love for a reason. Love just happens. The intimacy just comes. The spark.. The vibe.. The warmth.. They just happen with that person. NO REASON. Fine, you will love some attributes that they possess. But then, when you see someone else with those attributes, and it doesn't diminish the love you have for your partner, that means there's no particular reason for loving that person. Also, you're committed to that person.  True love happens for NO REASON!  Love just happens. The chemistry just occur. The spark, vibe and warmth are natural. STAY COMMITTED. TRUE LOVE NEEDS NO REASON T...

HELPING HANDS

When I see the needy, I wish I had the luxuries of the world so I could take care of them. I wish I could help.... I lend out a helping hand to those little kids on the street. I stretch forth my little palms to those aged that are homeless. I give a bit of the little that I have....  You're complaining you don't have much?  You think you're poor?  Tell me, don't you have a shelter on your head?  Don't you eat at least a square meal everyday?  You breathe just fine?  Common, check out the deep slums. I challenge you, to get up and go look deep into those worn out eyes!  See what they're going through. See for yourself, the leftovers they get from your trash!  They can't even afford a good education!  No access to the basic amenities... The list goes on and on...  Lend out a helping hand. Stretch forth a ready to give palm. Out of the little you have, you can give a bit. Help those in need and make the world a wonderful place to be......

_Life's showing us its true color already. As kids, we've seen more than an average adult would. Hustling real, at such a young age. We've got a sense of responsibility at this tender age. Our 'supposed be soft' palms are as hard as an adult's sole. Our melanin would have been that type that pops, but the everyday  toiling wouldn't let it. We  toil the earth to the brim. Our sweats waters the the greens(plants).  We're closer to mother nature than any other person(s).  We ask this question ; WHY CAN'T EVERYONE HAVE LUXURIES? It hurts to see our parents suffer...our siblings, looking tattered... Even WE, appearing battered!  Who do we blame?  What will happen to our dreams?..........._                                ©Zainab Motunrayo Kareem (RAYO)
